Farzin Fouroutan
Farzin Foroutan (born in1992) is an Iranian-based artist who has primarily worked in the medium of photography. He received his M.A. in Visual Arts and Visual Communications Design from EMU University of Cyprus. He has participated in various exhibitions around the world such as USA, Spain, England, Switzerland, France, Italy and, Hungary.
Farzin Fouroutan will participate at this year’s edition from the Beirut Image Festival.

فرزين فروتن (من مواليد عام 1992) هو فنان إيراني عمل أساسًا في التصوير الفوتوغرافي. حصل على درجة الماجستير في الفنون البصرية وتصميم الاتصالات البصرية من جامعة EMU في قبرص. شارك في العديد من المعارض حول العالم مثل الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وإسبانيا وإنجلترا وسويسرا وفرنسا وإيطاليا
والمجر.

يأخذنا علي بن ثالث في رحلة تحت الماء في بحار آسيا، هذه القارة التي تقع بين محيطين، المحيط الهندي والمحيط الهادئ، تقع بينهما جغرافيا معقدة من الأرض والمياه التي أنتجت خمسة عشر بحرًا فريدًا، وأدت إلى تكاثر الأسماك والحيوانات المائية الرائعة على كوكبنا. تستكشف صور بن ثالث عالم تحت الماء بكائنات نادرة وأخرى اعتدناها في السينما والتلفزيون.
سيكون لعلي بن ثالث مشاركة بمجموعة من الصور ضمن إطار فاعليات مهرجان بيروت للصورة ٢٠١٩.

Ali Bin Thalith takes us on an underwater journey in the seas of Asia, a continent that extends between two oceans, the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. Ben Thalith’s photos explore an underwater world with its rare creatures and other beings that we used to see on television and in cinema.
Ali Bin Thalith will be participating in the next edition of the Beirut Image Festival.

Hana Gamal
Born in 1985, Flavia Juska Bechara is a self-taught actress and photographer.
Her curiosity never failed to push her to try all sorts of jobs in the film industry.
After playing the lead role in two International multi-award winning feature films (The Kite 2004 & Adam`s Wall 2009), and in the Lebanese drama (Awake 2019), she recently aimed to discover her skills in photography and writing, which proved to be the ideal process to convey her emotions.
Flavia is into film, poetry, music; she is also interested in every aspect of being alive, in every experience life offers and in every single breath her daughters inhale.
تعلمت فلافيا التمثيل والتصوير بنفسها، فضولها لم يمنعها من تجربة كل أنواع الوظائف في مجال السينما.

M’hammed Kilito is a Moroccan photographer based in Rabat. Through his work he explores, questions and tries to understand the societal transformations taking place in Morocco. His photographs offer a sensitive and critical reading on concepts related to socio-political themes such as the divisions based on class and heritage, migration, identity and social determinism.

AMEL PAIN, France
Amel Pain’s education and professional experience have always focused on two major elements: journalism and languages.
She was raised in Algeria before moving to France and starting her career as free-lance photographer. Before joining epa as picture editor on the Frankfurt news desk in 2008, she had worked as photographer and editor for AFP in Paris and New Delhi and also as picture editor for Reuters.
Thanks to her professional experience and her language abilities, she was selected in 2010 for a newly established position as Chief Editorial Operations Middle East based in Cairo. In her new responsibility she organized coverage from the Maghreb and Middle East countries and covered events as photographer herself.
In late 2014 Amel was appointed Head of Video steering epa’s international video production and the video desk in Madrid, Spain. In 2016 Amel left Madrid and moved to Amman, Jordan, where she took over the responsibility for the coverage from the Middle East region in her new expanded position as Middle East Bureau Chief/Head of Global Video.

Francesco Nicastri- Italy
Born in southern Italy and later he studied engineering while working as a software developer but soon realized that photography was his real passion. For him, photography is a way to record time, record memories, but, above anything else, is a way to give voice to feelings, a way to reveal what is inscrutable to the eyes. “It often takes a long time before the story is revealed.”

ولد في جنوب إيطاليا، والتحق بكلية الهندسة أثناء عمله كمطور برامج، لكنه سرعان ما أدرك أن التصوير هو شغفه الحقيقي. يعتبر فرانشسكو أن التصوير الفوتوغرافي هو وسيلة لسرد الزمن وتدوين الذكريات، لكن قبل أي شيء آخر، هو وسيلة لإبراز المشاعر، والكشف عما لا تراه العيون. “غالباً ما يستغرق الأمر وقتًا طويلاً قبل الكشف عن القصة”.
Roger Mokbel- Lebanon
He is a Lebanese biotechnology engineer who found in photography a means of self-expression. He spent twelve years of his life abroad before coming back to Lebanon in 2014. Feeling inspired by the chaotic urban landscapes, photography was his tool to advocate for social justice. He was selected for the Arab Documentary Photography Program (2018/2019) in which he completed one of his first photography projects.

مهندس في علم البيولوجيا، وجد في التصوير وسيلة للتعبير عن الذات. قضى اثني عشر عامًا من حياته في الخارج، قبل أن يعود إلى لبنان عام 2014، يرى في التصوير الفوتوغرافي أداة للدفاع عن العدالة الاجتماعية. تم اختياره لبرنامج التصوير الوثائقي العربي (2018 -2019) الذي أكمل فيه أحد مشاريعه الأولى في التصوير الفوتوغرافي.
Haitham Moussawi – Lebanon
Photojournalist, head of the photography department, and has been working at Al-Akhbar Newspaper since its establishment and at the French Press Agency since 1996. He has worked at international magazines and newspapers, participated in several international exhibitions, and won international awards. Selected from the top 23 photographers in the world in Italy (2006). He participated in several photographic books and a documentary in which he was able to photograph all the prisons for the first time in Lebanon.

مصوّر صحافي ورئيس قسم التصوير في جريدة “الأخبار” منذ تأسيسها، بدأ التصوير منذ عام 1996 في وكالة الصحافة الفرنسية. عمل في مجلات وصحف عالمية، وشارك في معارض دولية، وحاز جوائز عدة. جرى اختياره بين أفضل 23 مصوّراً في العالم في إيطاليا (2006). شارك في عدة كتب تصوير، وفي كتاب توثيقي تمكّن فيه من تصوير كافّة السجون لأوّل مرة في لبنان.
Nesrine ElKhatib graduated with a Bachelor’s of Archeology in Cairo, Egypt. She’s a professional photographer with more than 5 years of professional experience in various types of photography. Nesrine has visited more than 40 cities throughout her career for professional photography missions.

Philippe Taris was born in Bordeaux, France.
He discovered photography at 18 through Henri Cartier Bresson’s work in Spain and Mexico, prior to the onset of the Spanish Civil War in the 1930s.
Taris soon after became a photojournalist himself, and helped to create the City Magazine Bordeaux-Actualités in 1981. From 1983 to 2017 he was a Staff Photographer at the daily French newspaper Sud-Ouest, the third largest regional daily in the country, for which he has covered a wide range of subjects. In the last ten years, Taris focused on religious and mystical practices in Spain and Italy. This body of work led to the publication of Espagne Illuminée in 2017.
ولد فيليب تاريس في بوردو ، فرنسا. اكتشف التصوير في سن 18 من خلال أعمال هنري كارتييه بريسون في إسبانيا والمكسيك ، قبل بداية الحرب الأهلية الإسبانية في الثلاثينيات.
بعد فترة وجيزة أصبح تريس مصورًا صحفيًا بنفسه ، وساعد في إنشاء City City Magazine بوردو – Actualités في عام 1981.
